About Riksja

Perhaps you have never heard of us. Perhaps you have already browsed one of our sites or who knows, you have even been on a trip with us. But who is Riksja Travel anyway? A headstrong travel organization from Leiden does not really cover it. A travel company with a heart for the world does not cover it either. A club of enthusiastic travel fanatics then? Well, it is actually a bit of all those things. We are happy to explain it to you! Click further  and go on an adventure with us.

How does it work?

We have built various Brazil building blocks and Brazil tours for you based on our travel experiences through Brazil . You can put them in your suitcase and request a no-obligation travel proposal, or you can call or email us first if you have questions or want specific tips. In this way, we try to offer everyone trips with their own interpretation, where you really get to know Brazil and its people and after which you come home with a story. A funny, beautiful or special experience that you will remember for a long time. In addition, we find it important that our trips are responsible with respect for people and nature. Riksja means to me….
……..a special way of traveling where you are connected to other cultures and beautiful destinations! I am always looking for the lesser known places when I am traveling and I like to get lost. You never know what you can experience then..

For me, happy moments mean bare feet in the sand, in a laidback atmosphere surrounded by green and hilly surroundings like Ilha Grande. Bay Bay Island, hello Paraty combines a relaxed and tropical island where you can get fresh juices and caipirinhas in the evening with a colonial city where it seems like time has stood still.

Latin America is for me…
…a continent where many dreams have come true and which is my favorite part(s) on earth. From the vibrant cities like Buenos Aires and Medellín to the colorful pearls like Arequipa and Popayan. From the magical natural wonders like the Iguazu Falls , Patagonia, Amazon and Galapagos to landscapes like spooky jungles, tropical beaches, vast ‘campos’ and orange-red deserts. Not only when you cross the border, but also when you travel from one place to another, you always have the feeling of ending up in a different world. That’s how versatile Latin America is with its heartwarming and temperamental Latinos.

In Brazil we work with a Dutch partner who will provide you with advice and assistance on site.

We select our local partners with care. We find the same things important; freedom, authenticity and being good to people. They arrange your trip on site. Travel in which people are central, small-scale and of course responsible. This way we can trust that you are in good hands not only before your trip, but also during your Brazil trip.

We are part of Riksja Travel, named after the simple means of transport and its hard-working drivers. A rickshaw is an accessible means of transport where you really make contact with the local population. By using this, you contribute directly to the local economy. Riksja stands for the far, small-scale and individual trips that we have been offering since 2000. Travel where people are central. This way of traveling is possible at all our destinations, far away and also close by.
